Prairie Spirit Board of Education

The Role of the Board of Education

The Prairie Spirit Board of Education is responsible for governing the school division. The Board sets the overall direction of the school division by approving the strategic plan, the Division’s budget, and Board policies that guide learning across Prairie Spirit.

The Board consists of 11 locally elected Trustees who serve the community and keep student success at the heart of every decision they make. Board Trustees bring democracy to education by being connected to our communities and inviting different voices and perspectives, which benefits our students.

Trustees actively advocate for Prairie Spirit students with all levels of government and champion Prairie Spirit schools.

The Board consulted the community and key stakeholders to create the current 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, which highlights the Division’s strategic goals and values.

If you have feedback or a concern regarding an issue with Division-wide impact, please contact your local Trustee (details below). This would also include concerns or feedback regarding Board policy or the Board’s strategic plan.

If you have questions or concerns about your child’s experience at school, please contact the school and use the Recommended Communication Process as a guide: Recommended Communication Process Families + School, which highlights the Division’s strategic goals and values.
