After many discussions throughout the school review process, the Prairie Spirit Board of Education has decided to keep Laird School open with changes to the school’s grade configuration.
Beginning this fall, Laird School will become a Kindergarten to Grade 6 school, with Laird students in Grades 7 and 8 provided transportation to Waldheim School. This decision was made with the intention of providing strong support for students, staff and families.
The Board directed administration to develop a transition plan in consultation with the School Community Council at both Laird School and Waldheim School. The transition plan addresses student placement, transportation, and communication with families: Laird School Transition Plan
