Introduction to Unit XXVIII:
What A Great Party!
Unit XXVIII will focus on new vocabulary related to the theme of parties and social gatherings, as well as familiar terms about weather, food and music. You will also be introduced to several new terms which show how technology has influenced our ability to communicate in today's world. This Unit will continue to reinforce your translation skills – from English to Ukrainian and Ukrainian to English.

To apply the Accusative and Genitive Cases in the context of the Unit theme, and also with new terms which describe popular digital technology.

To use adjectives and phrases which describe one's physical appearance, age and stature.

To recognize a second form of the Future Imperfect tense of verbs, and to refine your skills in using the Imperfective – Perfective and Imperative forms of verbs.

To review your ability to use common prepositions, adverbs and expressions , as well as pronouns in the Dative and Genitive cases.

To display appropriate levels of comprehension when reading dialogues, articles or basic texts which contain familiar Ukrainian vocabulary.

Діялог 28 – Вечірка
Синопсис
Сьогодні друзі Оленки й Тараса прийшли до них на вечірку. На вечірці у Козаків буде багато їсти, буде музика, а пізніше всі будуть співати пісні. Оленка просить усіх гостей до столу, щоб взяти перекуску. Тарас має багато нових касеток (компакт дисків*), і питає всіх, що грати. Молодший брат Петрик також хоче допомагати – він буде доглядати перекуску.
*компакт диск – те саме, що CD. Певно, що в 2008 році, Тарас має диски, а не касетки або платівки!
