| Paul Tschetter is the boss of this colony. He has to know everything that is going on the colony. Such as, what or how many tractors or land we are going to buy because he takes care of all the money. He looks after the bills and checks to be paid. He makes a lot of decisions and has a lot of work on his hands. He became the boss because the people of the colony voted for him. We vote for allot of things such as who becomes German School Teacher, Land Boss, Cow Boss and Pig Boss. Here on the colonies we do not have any women for bosses. The women don’t get voted for because in the olden days, the Hutterite women were not bosses. They just cleaned, washed, cooked and cared for the children. And we believe that this was one of the Hutterite ways important in the past so we do not do it in the modern days. |
