The Town of Dundurn

Town of Dundurn

Just 20 minutes outside the City of Saskatoon, Dundurn is an exciting, growing town with an interesting heritage.

Originally settled in 1902, the tiny village of Dundurn was situated on the main C.P. Railroad line from Regina to Saskatoon. It has been claimed that Dundurn was a hideout for the famous outlaw, Jesse James, although more recent research shows that it is doubtful that he ever visited the area.

Today, Dundurn is small enough to have the feel of a small town, yet big enough to offer shops and services including a rink, library, community hall, restaurants, bar, post office, museum, rodeo grounds, churches and other small businesses and services. Agriculture continues to be the backbone of the local economy.

Dundurn also serves the town sites of Thode and Shields in the Blackstrap Provincial Park. The Park, which is centered around Lake Blackstrap also includes Mount Blackstrap Ski Resort. Also close to the town are Hillcrest Hutterite Colony and Canadian Forces Camp Dundurn.

Dundurn continues to attract newcomers through it’s proximity to Saskatoon, a growing local economy and new housing development.
